Burning Mouth Syndrome

Burning Mouth Syndrome (Syndrome de la bouche brûlante) is an intimate journey in my memories oscillating between France and Cambodia, the triviality of everyday life and poetry. Moving across temporalities, physical and imagined spaces, an inner landscape unfolds, exploring the father-daughter relationship, dual culture, exile, absence, and unspeakability. This burning mouth perhaps expresses an urgency to dislodge those small stones in the shoe, at the back of the throat, to bring them out, to invent new rituals to resist forgetting, and to weave the threads that bind.
